This week’s star performance came from the Chinese Super League, where Aleksandar Jovanovic bagged a brace to help his side to a 4-4 draw. Elsewhere, Tom Rogic has maintained his strong international form, setting up a goal as Celtic won to maintain their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership, while Chris Duggan bagged another goal in the Scottish League Two. 

There was also goal scoring action from Hong Kong, as Ryan Griffiths grabbed two goals in two league and cup games and Andrew Barisic also found the back of the net, while James Demetriou and Greg Downes were both on the scoresheet in the English lower divisions. 

UK

In the English Premier League, Mile Jedinak played a full match for Crystal Palace as they drew 2-2 away to West Ham United. Jordan Lyden came on in the 82nd minute as Aston Villa suffered a 4-0 home loss to Chelsea FC. Mark Schwarzer was an unused substitute as league leaders Leicester City won 1-0 at home to Southampton FC. Brad Smith was an unused substitute as Liverpool FC played out a 1-1 draw at home to title chasers Tottenham Hotspur. Adam Federici was also an unused substitute as AFC Bournemouth lost 4-0 at home to Manchester City. Curtis Good was not in the squad as Newcastle United lost 3-2 away to relegation rivals Norwich City. 

In the Championship in England, Bailey Wright played a full match while Neil Kilkenny was not in the squad as Preston North End won 2-1 away to Blackburn Rovers. Jason Davidson was an unused substitute as Huddersfield Town lost 1-0 at home to Sheffield Wednesday. Massimo Luongo was also an unused substitute as Queens Park Rangers lost 3-2 at home to Middlesbrough FC, for whom Rhys Williams was not in the squad.

In the English League One, James Meredith played a full match as Bradford City won 1-0 at home to Scunthorpe United. Shane Cansdell-Sherriff was an unused substitute as Burton Albion moved from the top of the table with a 1-1 home draw against Bury FC. Matthew Spiranovic played a full match while Tim Cahill came on at halftime as Hangzhou Lucheng won 2-0 at home to Shandong Luneng. Apostolis Giannou came on in the 61st minute as Guangzhou Fuli lost 2-0 away to Guangzhou Hengda.

In the opening round of matches from the North American Soccer League, Caleb Patterson-Sewell was an unused substitute as Rayo OKC played out a goalless draw with FC Edmonton. 

In the USL Pro in the United States, Harrison Delbridge played a full match for FC Cincinnati as they won 2-1 away to Bethlehem Steel. Adriano Pellegrino played until the 60th minute as Tulsa Roughnecks lost 2-1 at home to Swope Park Rangers.
