Fans snap up Grand Final tickets in record time

Just 8000 tickets remain for Sunday’s A-League Grand Final blockbuster after a two-day pre-sale period saw club members and football fans snap up tickets in record time.

Suncorp Stadium is set to be overflowing with 52,000 supporters from both sides of the border as Brisbane Roar and Western Sydney Wanderers clash in the epic season decider.

The final tickets for the Grand Final go on sale to the general public at 9am Wednesday morning.

FFA CEO David Gallop urged football fans to act swiftly.

“Members of Brisbane Roar and Western Sydney and the FFA Football Family have been quick to snap up tickets for Sunday’s Grand Final in record numbers in yet another sign of the growth of the Hyundai A-League,” Gallop said.

“Suncorp Stadium will play host to a unique atmosphere on Sunday with thousands of Western Sydney Wanderers fans heading north to be met by the noise and passion of Brisbane Roar’s Orange Army.

“Sunday’s Grand Final will be a fitting climax to what has been yet another tremendous season and the competition’s top two teams in 2013/14 will be greeted by a sea of colour and noise only A-League fans can generate.”

The 2014 Grand Final will also include a special performance by US singer-songwriter Jason Derulo and a parade of retiring stars as part of the pre-match entertainment on Sunday.

The 2011 Pop Songwriter of the Year is currently touring Australia in support of his smash album, ‘Tattoos’.
