Young Socceroos winger Awer Mabil has received a hero’s welcome after being officially unveiled in front of the supporters of his new club FC Midtjylland.
The fans of the reigning Danish champions greeted the 19-year-old, who signed from Adelaide United a fortnight ago, ahead of Midtjylland's league clash with OB at the MCH Arena on Friday.
FourFourTwo can confirm Mabil has now received his work permit and is officially available for selection, having missed the 1-0 win over OB.
The young Aussie could debut for Midtjylland in the UEFA Champions League as they are due to face Cypriot champions APOEL in the third qualifying round on Tuesday.
Mabil’s agent Buddy Farah told FourFourTwo: "This is an amazing time in the life of a young mature man who will take this great opportunity to repay the faith in him to a great family club who are driven by success.
“Awer has really adapted well and is settling in fast. It’s definitely been a real eye opener to what he was used to. Big things await."
Mabil will wear the number 45 shirt for his new club.
