Central Coast Mariners have listened to their fans and adopted a near all-yellow home jersey for the upcoming 2014/15 A-League campaign.
The new home and away Kappa playing strips were officially unveiled at Westfield Tuggerah on Thursday evening.
Players John Hutchinson, Anthony Caceres, Eddy Bosnar and Liam Reddy struck a pose as fans gathered in the Centre Court to get a peek at the club’s new look.
The home was designed with the input of a panel of fans.
Club supporters wanted yellow as the dominant colour on the home playing shirt with an altered neckline.
The new clean look with a thin blue trimming complements an otherwise all yellow design with V-neck. The home shirt will be paired with navy blue shorts and classic white socks.
Central Coast’s away strip features a navy blue top paired with white shorts and socks, while goalkeepers Liam Reddy and Matt Nash will sport charcoal kits in the first instance.
All the jerseys for 2014/15 feature the club’s 10 year anniversary crest designed by member Tyson Peisley, and possess a unique feature on the upper back – four palm trees and the numbering “2004 – 2014” to signify the club’s home, history and heritage.
The kits were given the thumbs up by foundation Mariner and club captain, Hutchinson.
“As players the most important thing is that we feel comfortable in our strips,” Hutchinson said.
“We are happy with the new neckline and given we feel good in these looks we hope that the kits will prove to be popular with our fans.”
