Perth Glory defender Michael Thwaite has been given a call-up to the A-League All-Stars team set to take on Serie A giants Juventus.
Thwaite, 31, will replace Sydney FC defender Sasa Ognenovski who was pulled out of the team on Saturday.
The defender becomes only the second Perth Glory player to represent the All-Stars, joining teammate Youssouf Hersi in the squad.
Josep Gombau's men began preperations on Saturday with a training session at WIN Stadium in Wollongong with Thwaite and former Sydney FC forward Alessandro del Piero to join the camp tomorrow.
"Michael Thwaite is another quality player who will help in our goal to represent Australian football and (the) A-League against a top club like Juventus," said All Stars coach Gombau.
"We have had a very good feeling amongst the players in the camp and I know Michael will give us good energy as well as his capabilities as a defender."
The All-Stars will play the Young Socceroos on Tuesday in Wollongong ahead of their friendly against Juventus in Sydney on August 10.comments
