Newcastle Jets defender Daniel Mullen has signed a two-year contract extension with the club.
Mullen joined the Jets in January after a spell with the Western Sydney Wanderers.
In a statement announcing his re-signing, the 25-year-old spoke of his confidence in the under-fire Phil Stubbins.
"If I wasn’t happy with the current coaching personnel and structure then I wouldn’t have signed, so that speaks for itself," Mullen said.
"I am confident with the team that they are putting together, and feel we can be a real threat next season."
It means Mullen will be reunited with former Adelaide United team-mate Nigel Boogaard, who will join the Jets next season.
Mullen is excited by the prospect of teaming up with Boogaard once more.
"I played with Nigel for a couple of years at Adelaide and he is part of the reason why I was eager to stay," he said.
"His [Boogaard's] signing shows the positive mindset of the club and coaching staff. Nigel is a leader, and a born winner."comments
