A-League champions Brisbane Roar have re-signed Jean Carlos Solorzano to a two-year deal, committing the Costa Rican striker to the Queensland club until the end of the 2015/16 season.
Solorzano, known as “Nico” to his teammates, re-joined the Roar on a short-term contract in January following stints with Melbourne Victory and Costa Rican club Puntarenas.
Prior to that, he played a key role in the club’s successful 2010/11 campaign, making 25 appearances and scoring 11 goals as Roar clinched their first Premiership and Championship double.
Head Coach Mike Mulvey said he was impressed with the 26-year-old’s commitment since coming back to Australia.
“Nico has shown loyalty, professionalism and a hunger for more success here in Brisbane,” Mulvey said.
“He’s worked extremely hard at training and I’m looking forward to seeing his contributions next season with a full pre-season under his belt.
“Nico considers Brisbane home now and we’re pleased he’s decided to stay with the club.”
Solorzano and his teammates are currently on their off-season break and are due to return to pre-season training at the end of June.
