Slick Sydney compound Aloisi's Heartbreak
A penalty to Alessandro De Piero and a goal to Joel Chianese, both in the first half, condemned Heart to a pointless night.
The home side winless since February were desperate to get their first victory of the campaign while Sydney were riding high after a gutsy win over Victory the week before.
Heart, still without a couple of their big guns - Harry Kewell and Orlando Engelaar - had a good 10 minute spell in the first half and might have gone ahead through Michael Mifsud.
The Maltese international, on the wrong end of a poor offside call in the earlier exchanges, had a great chance on 14'. But the veteran tried to drill his shot through the goalkeeper, Vedran Janjetovic, and couldn't deal with the rebound.
In contrast, the visitors' refashioned backline held firm at one end and did the business at the other. The breakthrough came on 27' when Chianese with nowhere to go, lured Heart skipper Robbie Wielaert into the challenge, winning the penalty which Del Piero clinically dispatched
On 44' Ali Abbas burst down the left before firing across the face of goal, the shot evading everyone except Chianese who tapped it in on the back post, doubling Sydney's lead.
Heart came out of the sheds with greater purpose but were unable to find the breakthrough goal and in the end it was a comfortable night for the Sky Blues.
The home side threw everything at Sydney in the final minuutes but an effort by Mifsud on 92' and Golgol Mebrahtu on 94' would have provided consolation only.
The result sees Frank Farina's men notch up two victories on the trot and jump up to third on the league ladder with four matches still to play. While Heart remain rooted at the bottom of the table with just two points.
