Nicklas Bendtner's father has moved to quash reports that the Danish international is set to join Roma this summer, after the striker was spotted in the Italian capital. With whispers of a potential switch to the Giallorossi already filling column inches, the rumour mill went into overdrive over the weekend when Bendtner was spotted in Rome. Roma boss Luciano Spalletti had admitted he was tracking a young striker in either Italy or England, leading to speculation that Bendtner - who has 14 goals in 58 league outings for the Gunners - was set to swap the Emirates Stadium for the Stadio Olimpico.
However, Bendtner Sr has clarified his son's stance, insisting his son was simply on holiday and is going nowhere during the close-season.
"There is absolutely nothing to the rumour about Roma," he told Sporten.dk.
"Nicklas is happy at Arsenal, and the trip to Rome has been planned for a long time, just like his other summer plans."
