Liverpool are still without a win away from home in the Premier League this season and Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest means the Reds have picked up just two points on the road in 2022/23.

Nigerian forward Taiwo Awoniyi, who was on Liverpool's books between 2015 and 2021 but never made a first-team appearance for the Reds, scored the only goal of the game 10 minutes into the second half to hand Forest a vital win.

The result leaves Liverpool with just two points from their five away fixtures in the Premier League this season.

Jurgen Klopp's side were held to a 2-2 draw by Fulham on the opening weekend of the season and were involved in a goalless game at Everton in early Septemer.

The defeat to Forest was the Reds' third away from home in 2022/23, following the losses at Manchester United in August and Arsenal earlier this month.

Only three teams have won fewer points than Liverpool this term: Leicester (none from five games), Wolves (one from six) and Leeds (one from five).

Forest and Aston Villa have each won two points away from home (both from six games) and have an inferior goal difference to Liverpool.

Klopp's side dropped 14 points away from home in the whole of last season (19 games), but have already missed out on 13 this term (from just five fixtures).

Liverpool have also suffered three defeats overall this season in the Premier League, compared to just two last term.
