Newcastle vs Burnley live stream, Sky Sports, Saturday 3 October, 8pm BST

Burnley are looking to pick up their first points of the season when they travel to St James’ Park to take on a Newcastle side coming off two unconvincing performances in the space of a week.

The Magpies were awarded a hugely contentious late penalty to snatch an undeserved draw from their game against Tottenham last weekend, after Eric Dier was controversially penalised for handball.

Steve Bruce’s side followed that up by scraping past League Two side Newport County in the League Cup on Wednesday, requiring a late Jonjoe Shelvey equaliser to take the tie to a penalty shoot-out, which they won 5-4.

Newcastle have been ruthlessly efficient in front of goal this season, though, scoring with each of their three shots on target in the league to earn four points from their first three games.

Winger Allain Saint-Maximin could return after missing three games with an ankle problem, but Matt Ritchie is out for two months and Jamaal Lascelles and Emil Krafth are doubtful.

The Tyneside club have been awful at home recently, winning just one of their last eight matches at St James’ Park, a victory against Sheffield United in June.

Burnley have only played two Premier League games so far, falling to defeats against Leicester and Southampton, and the Clarets were knocked out of the League Cup in midweek by Manchester City.

Sean Dyche welcomes wingers Berg Gudmundsson and Robbie Brady back into his squad after injury layoffs, while Ashley Barnes and James Tarkowski returned against City during the week.

The Clarets are at risk of losing their opening three league games for the first time since doing so in the second tier in 2003/04.

Their recent away form has been promising though, with Dyche’s side picking up 10 points from their last five matches on the road and scoring in each of those games.

However, Burnley’s record against Newcastle doesn’t bode well for the visitors - they have failed to win any of their last seven away games against the north-eastern club, a run stretching back to April 1976.

Use a VPN to watch Newcastle vs Burnley live stream from outside your country

If you’re on holiday or just simply out of the country, your domestic on-demand services won’t work – the broadcaster knows exactly where you are from your IP address. Your access to the game will be automatically blocked, which is annoying if you’ve paid a subscription fee and don't want to use an illegal, buffering stream that makes you miss another Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang goal. And that's where we recommend ExpressVPN (more on which below).

All you need to do is get a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to get beyond such aggravations (assuming it complies with your broadcaster’s T&Cs). A VPN creates a private connection between your device and the internet, meaning suppliers can’t work out where you are and what you’re doing. The info going to and from is entirely encrypted.
