United monitoring Italian twosome

The Red Devils have already successfully snapped up youngsters from the Eternal City in the form of Davide Petrucci and Federico Macheda, who shot to stardom last season - coming off the bench to net the winner in successive Premier League games against Aston Villa and Sunderland.

And, according to Calciomercato.it, Sir Alex Ferguson's side are closely monitoring the progress of two more Stadio Olimpico starlets, in the form of Gianluca Caprari and Giammario Piscitella.

The report claims that David Williams, an Italian-based scout for the Premier League champions, was recently spotted in Rome watching the pair of prodigys in action against Empoli.

“Yes, Williams was there at the stadium,” a witness told the website.

“He was definitely hiding in the stands, and I am sure that he had come to see the Roma players play.”
