West Ham will be looking to maintain their fine recent form when they face Doncaster in the FA Cup this weekend.
David Moyes’ men have lost only one of their last nine games in all competitions, and their last four outings have all ended in victory. Moyes has done a fantastic job at the London Stadium so far this season, and nine points from nine in the Premier League has West Ham fans dreaming of Europe. The Hammers sit seventh in the standings after their defeat of West Brom on Tuesday, and are just one point adrift of Tottenham in fifth.
The club’s supporters will hope to see Moyes take the FA Cup seriously. West Ham made hard work of their third-round clash with Stockport, with Craig Dawson’s 83rd-minute effort securing a 1-0 win. The Hammers have failed to make it to the fifth round of the competition since 2015/16 and will be disappointed if they come unstuck against Doncaster.
Darren Moore’s side will put their League One promotion push on hold to try and claim a notable scalp on Saturday. Doncaster beat Blackburn in the third round, having put out FC United of Manchester and Carlisle before that, and are now preparing for their fourth successive away game in this season’s competition. Doncaster are also in excellent form, having won seven of their last eight games in league and cup.
West Ham will have to make do without Arthur Masuaku, but Moyes has no new injury concerns. The Scot named a strong side against Stockport and will probably do so again here, although Mark Noble, Darren Randolph and Andriy Yarmolenko - not usually part of Moyes’ Premier League starting XIs - will hope to come into the team.
Doncaster will be unable to call upon the services of Liam Ravenhill, Madger Gomes and James Coppinger, who turned 40 this week.
