Four-time Socceroos striker Mitchell Duke will miss at least the next six months after suffering a knee injury in training with his Japanese club.
The former Central Coast man confirmed the news on Instagram on Sunday afternoon, stating he had torn his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) at Shimizu S-Pulse training on Thursday.
The 25-year-old added that would face a minimum of six months on the sidelines.
The Japanese season runs from February to November, meaning Duke's campaign is likely over.
Duke has been in Japan since joining Shimizu from the Mariners in February last year.
He was a regular last season as Shimizu were relegated to the J2.League and has been in and out of the starting XI this term.
