Huth charged over Upson clash

LONDON - Stoke City defender Robert Huth has been charged with violent conduct after an incident involving West Ham United's Matthew Upson on Saturday, the Football Association said on Monday.

Huth appeared to connect with Upson's face as the pair jostled in the penalty area, leaving the England defender covered in blood. The incident was not spotted by referee Martin Atkinson at the time.

Germany defender Huth has until 5pm on Tuesday to respond to the charge.
