Tilburg sack Groenendijk

ROTTERDAM - Willem II Tilburg have sacked coach Alfons Groenendijk after a series of disappointing results, the Dutch league club said on their website on Friday.

Groenendijk was appointed in February 2009, succeeding Andries Jonker.

The club finished 12th last season and are now 17th in the 18-team league with 17 points after 23 matches.

They play Twente Enschede on Sunday.
