Tottenham report: Spurs confident Harry Kane will sign new long-term deal
Tottenham are hoping to persuade their talisman to put pen to paper on a new contract
Tottenham are confident that they can persuade Harry Kane to sign a new contract, according to reports.
The England captain's current deal expires in 2024 and he has been linked with a move away from the club, with Bayern Munich among the clubs thought to be keeping tabs on him.
Tottenham are desperate to keep hold of the striker for the rest of his career and 90min reports that the club believe he will remain in north London for the long-term.
Kane, who is valued at £81m by Transfermarkt, wanted to join Manchester City in the summer of 2021, but he now appears to be happy with life at Tottenham.
The report states that Spurs believe Kane will stay put, but they do not expect any movement on a new contract before the end of the year.
The 29-year-old will jet off to Qatar for the upcoming World Cup in the middle of next month, so there is little time to discuss his future before 2023.
Tottenham would prefer to get the deal done before the end of the season, amid fears that Bayern could swoop for Kane next summer.
