While Tommy Oar made his debut for Ipswich Town at Old Trafford in the Capital One Cup against Manchester United overnight.

Fellow Aussie Rostyn Griffiths also played the full match for Roda while former Perth Glory youngster Daniel De Silva came off the bench just after the hour mark – putting three Aussies on the park for the Eredivisie side.
Oar's competitive debut for Ipswich Town had a less successful outcome, with Mick McCarthy’s Championship side suffering a 3-0 loss to the Premier League giants Manchester United at Old Trafford.
While Oar impressed in a 90 minute performance for the Blues it wasn’t enough as goals to Wayne Rooney, Andreas Pereira and Anthony Martial handed Louis Van Gaal’s side the victory.
The Australian came closest to scoring for the Blues, firing in dangerous free kick that was only partially cleared by Marouane Fellaini, but Oar was unable to capitalise on the follow-up.

In Cup action elsewhere, Socceroo defender Tomislav Mrcela played 90 minutes for Lokomotiva Zagreb in their 8-0 drubbing of Nehaj in the HR Nogometni Cup.
