A goal from Central Coast's Senegalese import Malick Mane ensured the Mariners and Melbourne City shared the Craig Foster Cup in Lismore on Sunday.
After a scoreless first-half it was City who broke the dead-lock ten minutes in to the second period.
A training ground set piece saw Aaron Mooy set up defender Rob Wielaert at the back post.
But the lead did not last long, with Central Coast drawing level just a minute later.
Wielaert went from scoring at one end to giving away a spot-kick at the other after bringing down Anthony Caceres.
Malick Mane took the penalty and hit it straight down the middle to level the scores.
