De Silva to chase European dream

Perth Glory have announced than teenager Daniel de SIlva has been granted permission to head overseas in what could be potentially one of the biggest transfers in A-League history.

De Silva, 17, will be relieved from club duties between March 21 and March 29 while he and his family talk to representatives from the un-named club, believed to be in Italy's Serie A.

If the youngster does move overseas, Perth Glory CEO Jason Brewer confirmed he will remain at the Glory at least until he turns 18, with a loan-back deal the likely scenario.

“We can all agree that Danny is an exceptional talent that has had major interest from abroad, and we feel that it is our moral obligation, as a Club, to best facilitate his future as best we can" said Brewer.

“It is also important to remember that  is contracted with us until July 2015, and he will remain with the club until he is 18."
