Brisbane Roar are set to be without in-form striker Henrique for at least a month after the forward picked up an injury in training.
FourFourTwo understands the Brazilian tore his calf recently and could be out of action for up to the next six weeks.
It’s a big blow for the Roar, who recently released striker Mensur Kurtisi.
Henrique has been in great scoring touch for Brisbane this season, banging in seven goals and claiming two assists from 13 appearances.
The loss of Henrique and Kurtisi leaves the Roar’s forward line bare for their next A-League game, against Wellington Phoenix at Suncorp Stadium on February 2 when the competition resumes following the Asian Cup break.
The 29-year old joined Brisbane in 2009 and has scored 29 goals from over 100 appearances for the club.
Henrique has been a member of the Roar’s two premiership and three grand final wins, netting the extra-time winner in last season's Grand Final.
Brisbane take on Wellington and then face Newcastle, Central Coast and Melbourne Victory over the next month.comments
