Jedinak returns, Juric & Cahill scores

Socceroos skipper Mile Jedinak made his return from injury overnight, while Tomi Juric was on the scoresheet again in the Netherlands.

Jedinak returned for Crystal Palace as a 63rd minute substitute in the 3-1 home loss to West Ham after a month out with a hamstring injury.

"I feel fine, I was glad to play a part," Jedinak told the club’s website.

"You try to make a positive impact when you come on and the side is down to 10 men. We were stretched today, we were tested and we came up just short."

In the Eredivisie, Juric continued his good form with his third goal for new club Roda JC in a 1-1 draw away to Utrecht.

Juric swooped first to convert a rebound in the 36th minute of the contest.

He also had another chance barely 30 seconds later, but shot straight at the goalkeeper.

Elsewhere, Tommy Oar made his home debut for Ipswich Town, although he was replaced at the break in a 0-0 with Jason Davidson’s Huddersfield.

In China, Socceroo Tim Cahill netted a double on Saturday in a 3-0 win to take his season tally to 11 goals in the Super League.

The 35-year-old inspired Shanghai Shenhua’s comfortable 3-0 triumph over Changchun Yatai, to continue his goalscoring form since June.

Cahill has scored 10 goals in his past 14 appearances for Shenhua.

On 40 minutes, Cahill raced into the box after a turnover and rose well to glide a header past the onrushing keeper for 1-0.

The Australian hit the woodwork with a second-half header, before adding the third late on.

Cahill produced a clever flicked finish after a low cross inside the box on 86 minutes.
