Perth Glory and Jamieson part ways

Perth Glory and fullback Scott Jamieson have agreed to part ways, with the 26-year old defender’s contract terminated, effective immediately.

After completing his third season with the club, Sydney born Jamieson has been granted an early release to seek alternate football opportunities.

Glory is expected to undergo a huge upheaval in its player roster in the wake of the salary cap scandal, which saw the club fined and dumped out of the finals playoffs.

Goalkeeper Danny Vukovic and Youssouf Hersi left within the past week.

Both Vukovic and Jamieson have been targeted by Western Sydney Wanderers in their home city.

Jamieson was a Bolton Wanderers junior and played with Adelaide United and Sydney FC before making the move west.

The 2008-09 A-League Young Player of the Year marked his 150th Hyundai A-League match with Glory and also featured in the team’s FFA Cup final loss to Adelaide United.

He played a total of 56 A-League games for Glory since arriving in Perth in 2012.

Jamieson signed off with a tweet telling fans: "I hope you get the success you deserve!"
