Fulham manager Kit Symons has challenged Adam Taggart to take his opportunities in pre-season, but he has seen good signs.
The seven-time Socceroo came off the bench and almost scored in Fulham's 3-1 win over Crawley Town on Sunday morning (AEST).
Taggart, 22, is yet to make a senior appearance for the Championship club and his 2014-15 was ruined by injuries.
Symons said the former Newcastle Jet was getting his chances.
“It’s an opportunity for people," he told the club's website after the win over Crawley Town.
"'Tags' had a stinking season with injuries last term, it was really frustrating for him.
"But he’s come back, worked hard and he’s been bright and aggressive. He’s been given an opportunity and we’ll have to see if he takes it."
Taggart may yet have more competition, with Symons still eyeing a couple of signings.
“We’re hopeful for another couple of players so we’re looking and we’re talking to people,” he said.
“You never know so I wouldn’t count our chickens.
"We’re looking all over the pitch as we want to be strong in all areas. I want real quality in every position because it’s a long, tough season."comments
