Melbourne Victory have snapped up experienced Spanish defender Alan Baro from Segunda Division side Ponferradina until the end of the 2016/17 Hyundai A-League season.
Victory head coach Kevin Muscat was pleased to bring his new charge on board, in a position that the club require much depth.
"We're excited about what Alan can bring to Melbourne Victory this season," Muscat said.
"We identified Alan as a player who can add valuable experience and leadership to the team, having played consistently at a high level in Spain.
"He is comfortable playing as a central defender but can also offer us flexibility by playing a midfield role."
Baro, who was most recently captain at Segunda division side Ponferradina, joins the club full of enthusiasm.
"I am excited about this opportunity to play with Melbourne Victory in the A-League," Baro said.
"I have heard good things about the quality of football in Australia and I am looking forward to starting training with my new teammates."comments
