Video: Spitter Al-Shamrani in Geelong fan spat

Footage has emerged of Saudi Arabia's Nasser Al-Shamrani hitting a fan before a international friendly match against Bahrain in Geelong.

Only days out from the start of the Asian Cup in Australia, the current AFC Player of the Year lashed out at a fan as he made his way on to the pitch, exchanged verbals with the crowd and needed to be calmed down by teammates and officials.

The amateur footage has already received more than 1.2 million hits on YouTube.

Saudi Arabia lost the friendly match 4-1.

The 31-year-old Al-Hilal striker has been a controversial figure in recent times after being given an eight-match ban for headbutting and spitting at Western Sydney Wanderers defender Matthew Spiranovic during the Asian Champions League final.

It should make Saudi Arabia's final warm-up match interesting.
