Competition entrants will be able to apply locally in six different regions: Australia, UK, USA, Spain, Japan and China. You can also head to @NBFootball on twitter for regional details.
In addition, there will be a global competition with 60 winners.
Those chosen as part of the squad will receive new product drops throughout the 2015/16 season in the latest colourways before they go retail.
The competition is inspired by the practice of pro-footballers trialling blacked out boots when testing new product.
New Balance’s squad of professional players are backing the scheme, encouraging amateur players around the world to enter.
Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey said: “This is a dream come true for so many amateur players.
“There is nothing quite like the feeling when you put on new boots and kit for the first time and being able to wear it before your closest rivals.
“I’m sure the winners will feel 10 feet tall! I’m looking forward to welcoming the winners to the New Balance team.”
Competition winners will be the first members of public – anywhere in the world – to get their hands on the highly sought-after boots.
Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany added: “This is a really unique chance for players around the world who are passionate about football to be part of something very different.
“The competition is for players who believe they can stand out from the rest and are ready to become leaders amongst their teammates.
“I have never seen this sort of competition before where so many amateur players get the chance to trial boots before they are even on sale! It’s a fantastic opportunity and really is a ‘money can’t buy’ prize.”
Applicants for the Blackout Squad, will be challenged in different ways depending on the geographical location of their entry.
