Jones hurt in Liverpool win

Liverpool goalkeeper Brad Jones looks set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a thigh injury early in his team's win at Burnley.

The Australian shot-stopper came off after just 16 minutes at Turf Moor, where Liverpool went on to win 1-0.

Simon Mignolet, who had been dropped and replaced by Jones, kept the remainder of the encounter.

Rodgers is unsure how long Jones will be sidelined.

"It was his thigh muscle," Rodgers said.

"We'll have to look at it to see where Brad is at. If he's missing out (on Monday), we've got young Danny Ward and he would come onto the bench."

Rodgers praised Mignolet for his efforts after coming on.

"I thought he did well. He came for a couple of crosses really well; caught one and punched one. He didn't have a great deal to do, and his kicking was good," he said.

"He's worked hard since he came out of the team and he came on, kept a clean sheet and that was important for us."
