South Korea battle past Oman

South Korea edged Oman 1-0 in Canberra to start their Asian Cup with a win on Saturday.

Cho Young-cheol scored the only goal and it came just before half-time for Uli Stielike's men.
Cho pounced on a spill from Oman goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi, tucking a finish into the bottom corner.
Both teams had their chances, but South Korea – who are in Australia's Group – held on.
