Friday's big transfer rumours: Three Premier League clubs could fight for Real Madrid midfielder

James Rodriguez

What the papers say

Colombian James Rodriguez looks to be in high demand as rumours suggest his loan spell at Bayern Munich is coming to an end. After an unsettled period with Real Madrid, the 27-year-old has spent the last two years with the Bundesliga champions but is now reportedly ready for a move. With Zinedine Zidane overhauling his Real squad, Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal have all been put on alert to the midfielder’s situation, the Mirror reports.

Meanwhile, Bayern are said to be considering a record move for £90 million-rated Leroy Sane. The Mail says that Manchester City are poised to listen to a bid from the German club, who are said to want the 23-year-old to replace Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also looking to transform his team in the hope of a more successful 2019/20 campaign and, with that in mind, the Manchester United boss has four players he wants to offload, according to the Mirror. Among those likely to be walking away from Old Trafford are full-back Matteo Darmian, Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku, Spanish midfielder Juan Mata and Argentina defender Marcos Rojo, the paper says.

Ryan Fraser’s future could become clearer next week as Arsenal plan to make their move for the Bournemouth winger after the Europa League final against Chelsea, according to the Independent. The Cherries are believed to want £30 million for the Scotland international, but – with Manchester United reportedly taking themselves out of the race – the club are also aware they risk losing him on a free transfer next season if they don't negotiate a deal this summer.
