Man Utd v Watford live stream, BT Sport, Saturday 9 January, 8.00pm GMT

Manchester United will be looking to bounce back from their midweek defeat by Manchester City when they face Watford in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were beaten 2-0 by their local rivals on Wednesday, as City advanced to the League Cup final at United’s expense. It was a disappointing outcome for the Red Devils and their manager, who has now lost all four of the semi-finals he has contested since replacing Jose Mourinho in the Old Trafford hot seat.

United are doing well in the Premier League - they will go top if they avoid defeat by Burnley on Tuesday - but Solskjaer will begin to feel the pressure again if his team come unstuck against Watford.

To the surprise of no one, the Hornets are already on their second manager of the season. Vladimir Ilic was replaced by Xisco a few days before Christmas, and the Spaniard has won one and lost one so far.

Promotion is the objective for Watford this season - they currently sit sixth in the Championship standings - but Xisco will no doubt be relishing the chance to claim a significant scalp so early in his tenure.

United will be unable to call upon the services of Edinson Cavani, who is serving a ban. Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones are still out, but Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Brandon Williams, Donny van de Beek, Axel Tuanzebe and Timothy Fosu-Mensah are among the fringe members of Solskjaer’s squad who will hope to be involved.

Watford are still without Christian Kabasele, Isaac Success and Domingos Quina, while Tom Dele-Bashiru will not play again this season due to a serious knee injury. Joao Pedro and Craig Cathcart have both returned to training and are in contention to make the matchday squad for the trip to Old Trafford.

You can get 3/10 on a United win with Betfred, as well as £30 in free bets and 60 free spins when you bet £10. A Watford win is offered at 8/1.

Kick-off is at 8.00pm GMT and the game is being shown on BT Sport 1 in the UK. See below for watching details where you are.

Use a VPN to watch a Man Utd v Watford live stream from outside your country

If you’re on holiday or just simply out of the country, your domestic on-demand services won’t work – the broadcaster knows exactly where you are from your IP address. Your access to the game will be automatically blocked, which is annoying if you’ve paid a subscription fee and don't want to use an illegal, buffering stream that makes you miss another Jose Mourinho tantrum. And that's where we recommend ExpressVPN (more on which below).

All you need to do is get a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to get beyond such aggravations (assuming it complies with your broadcaster’s T&Cs). A VPN creates a private connection between your device and the internet, meaning suppliers can’t work out where you are and what you’re doing. The info going to and from is entirely encrypted.
