Herrlich named new Bochum boss

BERLIN - Former Germany international Heiko Herrlich has taken over as coach of struggling VfL Bochum on a three-year contract, the Bundesliga club said on Tuesday.

It will be the first club coaching role for the 37-year-old former Borussia Dortmund player whose last job was as Germany Under-19 manager.

Bochum, who are one place off the bottom on eight points from 10 matches, sacked Swiss coach Marcel Koller in September.
