Hoffenheim trio extend contracts

BERLIN - Strikers Demba Ba and Chinedu Obasi and defender Marvin Compper have signed extended contracts with Hoffenheim, the Bundesliga club said on Wednesday.

Nigerian Obasi has agreed a new deal running until 2014 while Compper and Ba, both currently out with the swine flu, have signed up until 2013.

All three players joined when Hoffenheim were still in the lower divisions, with Obasi and Ba coming in the summer of 2007 and Compper joining in early 2008 when Hoffenheim were still in the second tier.

"Edu, Marvin and Demba have been crucial in the positive sports development right up to the Bundesliga," said club manager Jan Schindelmeiser. "The extensions are proof of the joint wish for continuity."
