Quiz! Name the 19 players with 30+ league goals in a season since 1999/2000 (Europe's big six leagues)

Two players in particular have dominated in recent years – but they're far from alone in hitting the magical mark since the turn of the century

Goalscorers have all the fun, don't they? Lead the line, score the goals, get the points, save the cheerleader, save the world. Or maybe we just got that last bit confused with something else. Hmm.

Traditionally in English football, fans crave a 20-goal-a-season striker – but some stars have surpassed expectations quite spectacularly down the years. Harry Kane has been close to the 30-goal mark for a couple of seasons now (surely this year, yes?), but he hasn't quite made it yet. Five Premier League players have since the year 2000, though, with two of them hitting a record 31 in the 38-game era.

It's come a little easier elsewhere in Europe, however – but no prizes for naming the two La Liga players who account for 12 of the 35 entries below (six apiece, naturally). Two others have achieved the feat in Spain, mind, so the limelight isn't entirely theirs to hog.

Anyway: see how many of the 17 other players you can recall who've enjoyed 30-goal seasons in the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and the Eredivisie. We've put five minutes on the clock for you to name as many as you can and then tell us how you got on @FourFourTwo. If you're good boys and girls and don't give away answers, we'll retweet your scores.
