Manchester City have another chance to clinch the Premier League title when they travel to Newcastle on Friday night.
Pep Guardiola’s side missed their first opportunity to secure the league crown when they fell to a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday in a dress rehearsal of the Champions League final.
But they will be crowned English champions for the seventh time and win their fifth title of the Premier League era if they win on Tyneside.
City have wobbled a little recently, falling to two defeats in their last four games against Chelsea and Leeds, but in the meantime they booked a Champions League final spot for the first time and won the League Cup.
They head to St. James’ Park as huge favourites against a Magpies side that has only just secured its safety.
But Steve Bruce’s side have hit good form recently and earned a shock 4-2 win at Leicester City last time out, their third win in the last five league games.
Newcastle have little left to play for other than pride and finishing as high up the table as possible.
