Manchester United v Liverpool live stream, Sky Sports, Sunday 2 May, 4.30pm BST

Liverpool will be looking to get their top-four bid back on track when they face arch-rivals Manchester United on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp’s side cannot afford many more slip-ups if they are to qualify for next season’s edition of the Champions League. The Reds go into the weekend four points adrift of fourth place, and may require wins in each of their remaining five matches to climb above Chelsea. Even that will not be enough if the Blues are able to maintain the excellent form they have shown for the majority of Thomas Tuchel’s time in charge.

Three consecutive wins either side of the March international break suggested Liverpool had turned a corner, but disappointing 1-1 draws with Leeds and Newcastle have left them up against it in their bid for Champions League football. Klopp might be pleased that this match is taking place at Old Trafford rather than Anfield: whereas Liverpool have won just one of their last 10 games on Merseyside, five of their last seven trips to other Premier League grounds have produced maximum points.

Manchester City will win the Premier League title this weekend if they beat Crystal Palace and Manchester United succumb to defeat at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils will have half an eye on Thursday’s Europa League semi-final against Roma, but the nature of their rivalry with Liverpool means Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have to field a strong team here.  A home win would tighten United’s grip on second place, as they seek to finish as Premier League runners-up for only the second time in the post-Alex Ferguson era.

United will be unable to call upon Anthony Martial and long-term absentee Phil Jones, while Liverpool will have to make do without Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk, Jordan Henderson, Joel Matip, Divock Origi and Caoimhin Kelleher. Nathaniel Phillips has a hamstring strain but could be passed fit in time to feature.

Kick-off is at 4.30pm BST and the game is being shown on Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Main Event. See below for watching details where you are.

Use a VPN to watch a Manchester United v Liverpool live stream from outside your country

If you’re on holiday or just simply out of the country, your domestic on-demand services won’t work – the broadcaster knows exactly where you are from your IP address. Your access to the game will be automatically blocked, which is annoying if you’ve paid a subscription fee and don't want to use an illegal, buffering stream that makes you miss another Jose Mourinho tantrum. And that's where we recommend ExpressVPN (more on which below).

All you need to do is get a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to get beyond such aggravations (assuming it complies with your broadcaster’s T&Cs). A VPN creates a private connection between your device and the internet, meaning suppliers can’t work out where you are and what you’re doing. The info going to and from is entirely encrypted.

There are plenty of options out there, including:

ExpressVPN including a 30-day, money-back guarantee

FourFourTwo’s brainy office mates TechRadar love its super speedy connections, trustworthy security and the fact it works with Android, Apple, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, PS4 and loads more. You also get a money-back guarantee, 24/7 support and it's currently available for a knockdown price. Go get it! View Deal

NordVPN with quality mobile and desktop apps

A cheaper option and almost ExpressVPN's equal when it comes to quality, too. A single subscription covers six connections, so you can use it on mobile, laptop, streaming devices and more, all at the same time.View Deal

Surfshark offers a great VPN at a fraction of the price

It's clear to see why Surfshark is top of TechRadar's best cheap VPN table – it combines an excellent product with bargain pricing, starting at £2/$2.50 a month!View Deal
