TP Mazembe win African Super Cup

LUBUMBASHI - New signing Stopira Sunzu and his Zambian compatriot Given Singuluma both scored as TP Mazembe Englebert of the Democratic Republic of Congo won the African Super Cup with a 2-0 triumph over Stade Malien on Sunday.

Last year's African Champions League winners, enjoying home advantage, took the lead when Sunzu headed home from a corner on the quarter hour mark.

Singuluma (pictured) came on as a second-half substitute to score a second 10 minutes from full time.

It was the first time either club had competed in the Super Cup.

A new-look Malian team contained few of the players who helped them win last year's African Confederation Cup.
