Aston Villa will be looking to boost their European push with victory over Brighton on Saturday night.

Brighton have pulled clear of relegation trouble in recent weeks and go into this game with a healthy 10-point cushion above the bottom three. Graham Potter was starting to come under pressure this time last month, but he has since guided his team to vital victories over Leeds, Tottenham and Liverpool. There are signs that things are beginning to click for Albion, who will now be looking up the table rather than down it.

Villa will be unable to call upon the services of Wesley Moraes and Kortney Hause, but Smith has no fresh injury concerns to contend with. Trezeguet is fit again but will probably have to make do with a place on the bench, with Jack Grealish, Ross Barkley and Bertrand Traore set to continue in the line of three behind Ollie Watkins. Douglas Luiz is likely to return to the midfield in place of Marvelous Nakamba.
Brighton will again have to make do without Tariq Lamptey, Davy Propper, Alireza Jahanbakhsh and Florin Andone.
Adam Webster rolled his ankle against Leicester and will need to be assessed, but Potter is hopeful the central defender will be available. Solly March had an operation earlier this week and faces around 12 weeks on the treatment table, according to his manager.
